Book Review: Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren

What do you do when your knight in shining armor lives, literally, in a different world?

Most American teenagers want a vacation in Italy, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives among the romantic hills with their archaelogist parents. Stuck among the rubble of the medieval castles in rural Tuscany, on yet another hot, dusty archaeological site, Gabi and Lia are bored out of their minds...until Gabi places her hand atop a handprint in an ancient tomb and finds herself in fourteenth-century Italy. And worse yet, in the middle of a fierce battle between knights of two opposing forces. Suddenly Gabi's summer in Italy is much, much more interesting.

Our Thoughts...
This was the first book our book group read, it did not disappoint us!This story is packed with action, intriguing scenarios, surprises at every turn, and romance that will make you swoon. The plot was dramatic and suspenseful, and the romance wasn't over the top gushy.
-The story of in first person (which made me hesitate to read this at first)
-it is a YA book but many adults have loved reading Waterfall

Overview of a Few Characters
We LOVE Gabriella Betarrini and her amazing personality that is between a daring, slightly immature teenager and a responsible woman. She is extremely independent and stubborn, as her sister, Evangelia. She is no woman needing Prince Charming to save her (although there is a Prince Charming in the story)! We also ADORE Marcello Forelli, who was an exceptionally handsome Italian knight! Responsible and caring, he was just...perfect! Luca Forelli was a clown in the book! He is also a knight who is cousins with Marcello. He wasn't our favourite but was still hilarious and charming with his laid back attitude.
